What happens at a typical meeting?
A typical meeting starts promptly at 5:30pm and lasts 1.5 hours. The meetings begin with introductions and then lead into Table Topics (impromptu speeches), prepared speeches with evaluations, and then a general evaluation at the end of the meeting.
How much does it cost?
Pacific Spirit Toastmasters costs only $17 per month. There is also a one-time initiation fee of $35 (to cover the cost of the room, and your new member kit).
How often do I have to speak?
You can speak as often as you like and there are many opportunities to do so. Table topic speeches are great practice, and your manual will guide you through your first set of prepared speeches, which you can complete at your own pace. There are also different roles our members volunteer for at each meeting including Timer, Grammarian/Ah Counter, Jokemaster, and Inspirator.
What credentials can I earn?
There are many credentials you can earn through Toastmasters that will benefit your personal and professional life. They include:
CTM - Competent Toastmaster
ATM - Advanced Toastmaster (Bronze, Silver & Gold)
CL & AL - Competent Leader & Advanced Leader
DTM - Distinguished Toastmaster
